'12 Redline Monocog 29erThe simplicity of a singlespeed with the benefits of a 29er explain why Redline's Monocog is so popular. This great ride features a nimble-handling chromoly frame and fork that make it perfect for off-road rides and urban commutes, too. The fat, 2.2-inch Kenda Nevegal tires mean that you'll stick to pretty much anything. The drivetrain consists of a lightweight SRAM crankset with a 33-tooth chainring and a 20-tooth cog for a great all-around ride. With its reliable Alex rims and powerful Tektro linear-pull brakes the Monocog is a stellar bike for people who want to experience the fun ride of one gear and 29-inch wheels.

Comments: Great bike. This bike is comfortable and a great deal for getting into mountain biking or perfecting your skills. After owning a dual suspension Trek, I decided to try out a bare bones bike. I lusted after a Redline in college, so I thought I would give it a try. Well I was in love. This bike will make you a much better rider because you must be more aware of the lines you pick. No more smashing through and over everything. Riding a rigid takes control and tactics. If you ride a dual suspension and want to increase your mountain biking skills, pick this up and have a go at your favorite trails; they will be entirely different beasts to conquer.
