CITY SLAYER There is simply no better material better suited for the rigors of urban riding than steel. Unlike aluminum, steel naturally damps or absorbs the shocks and vibrations of city streets. Aluminum simply transmits it, like a tuning fork, which is why aluminum frames are often criticized for their "harsh" riding qualities. Besides, on a fixie, where vintage reigns, skinny steel frame tubes are just right.

SIMPLE, FUNCTIONAL, RELIABLE. Sometimes less is more. With a lightweight aluminum frame, single-chainring drivetrain, and a rigid no-nonsense fork XR24 is just about everything a kid needs for two-wheeled adventures.

We focus on designing frames with low stand-overs to take much of the awkwardness out of getting on board and dismounting after. We trim as much weight as we can with lightweight aluminum frames on many of the youth models and use aluminum parts where possible to work towards that make-it-as-light-as-possible goal.

TOP FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Our lightweight & durable aluminum Laser frame is easier to pedal than steel. The 20” Laser actually offers two types of brakes: a standard rear coaster brake, which most youngsters are familiar with, and a rear V-brake which many are not. Having the rear coaster brake as a back-up, allows youngsters to get used to hand-braking without going cold-turkey on the coaster brake they are comfortable with. Our alloy rims are anodized black to provide even greater corrosion and rust resistance than the alloy already possesses. Before wheels are laced and trued, the rim sidewalls are ground to provide a smooth braking surface for the rear V-brake. We build the Laser 2.0 wheels with 36 spokes in a 3-cross lacing pattern for a strong & durable wheel. Then mount knobby BMX tires that bite in the dirt, but also feature a rounded profile that rolls smoothly on neighborhood streets & driveways. Every Laser 2.0 offers a kickstand for parking that pride & joy up securely, and a safety bell to announce that the Laser has arrived.

The pedals offer a non-slip insert that keeps feet and shoes in full contact even when wet for safe and secure pedaling, too. Every 16-inch Miss Daisy offers stabilizing training wheels that assist the young rider in learning how to pedal, steer, and balance a bike for the first time. The training wheel support struts attach securely both to the rear hub axle and the frame itself so that the training wheels don’t rotate out of plane with the rear wheel, preventing tips or spills.
